I thought this place was super cute! It's definitely a local favorite. The waitress was really nice and offered great service. The food, however, was average and lacking in flavor. It was a nice dining experience, but the food was a no from me!
Met some great people had a great time went there for lunch and we ate in everything from the south bar to the soup to the main meals was extremely delicious I was very surprised the cook was very friendly and also the waitress and the owner will definitely be going back
The Hillbilly Diner was a real surprise. The place is nor much to look at and is a little off the beaten path but we will definitely be going back. Aside from the bun on my barbecue sandwich being a little too toasted, the food was delicious. I will probably try the barbecue plate with hush puppies next time. The service was quick and the waitress was very pleasant. The barbecue was some of the best that I have had in the area, The fries were very good, my wife enjoyed her burger and they have hand dipped ice cream and pies that they make for dessert. There are daily specials, I plan to go back to try some of those specials, the ribs, half barbecued chicken, and fried catfish.
The baked beans were awsome. Taters were ok. Meatloaf was very dry and did not have any smoke flavor or smell. The taste was 3 star at best. The fish and chips were little better. The fries were very gressey due to them putting fries in box first, then the cook never let greese fall off of fish just poured greese and all on top of fries. I went through 3 napkins just pulling out non greesey fries which were not many. The ones I ate were very good. They dont have a togo menu and the one online is not accurate, so beware. Im glad I live only 35 minutes away with all that greese..... If they let the fish stand in basket for minute or two it would have been great. The fish fell apart when i picked up the peices, prob could have been cooked a little longer and shake the basket while cooking a few times then batter would be even and not undercooked. Im not for sure why the reviews are so great. McDonalds fish is better. I guess I still have my taste buds and smell. Not worth the 35 minute drive.
This place did not disappoint ! The hamburgers were the size of my face ! Staff was so friendly the add on for bottomless ff and soda awesome at the end u get a scoop of ice-cream! Perfect little spot u can eat put side with your pet they even gave my doggie a pup cup and treat
Very good dinner. Everyone was pleased. I would recommend. Excellent hush puppies.
Went for a Saturday lunch and got the pimento cheese burger. Delicious, with two patties. Excellent service, nice people. And easy access from the interstate (40), right off exit 162.
Big plate homewrecker loaded fries. I had triple decker sandwich with more fries. Truckers come bobtail here small lot. But you will leave full. Better than truckstop food. They do have pickup give them a call.
